Database design is the process of producing a detailed data model of a database. It defines the logical design of the data structures used to store the data. Our main area of expertise in database design is relational databases. The relational database management systems (RDBMS) we have used most are SQL Server and MySql.
We have experience with tuning existing databases, in order to provide the best solution for our client. In most cases we use the process of normalizing the database design, to avoid anomalies that could lead to a loss of data integrity. We used it in the CarbonBlack project, for example, to solve data integrity problems and tune data querying.
In some cases however, we needed to denormalize a database design (use redundant data), in order to get more performance on the high volume of small transactions. For each project we choose the solution that will work best for our clients.
