Veridos – Government Identity & Border Solutions

Project description

We were involved in a project focused on delivering comprehensive government identity solutions. The scope covered the full spectrum of identity services, from secure document production to enrolment, personalization, and issuance. The project extended to border control technologies, including eGates. Through this engagement, we developed solutions that addressed identity management, border crossing security, and traveler risk assessment.

Business impact & achievements

Extended the existing border crossing system by introducing a risk assessment feature that triggers alarms for individuals flagged as potential risks before they arrive in the destination country
Creating standalone services that help passenger identification based on fingerprints, palm, iris, or facial images
Developing new software that migrates the scan reader desktop application used by border security officers into the cloud (web-based)
Designed and implemented a robust replication solution for PostgreSQL, built on RabbitMQ messaging. The solution enabled seamless synchronization between nodes while supporting customizable replication rules tailored to specific business and technical requirements. By leveraging RabbitMQ’s event-driven architecture, the system ensured low-latency data transfer, high availability, and improved reliability across distributed environments. This approach not only enhanced system resilience but also provided scalability and flexibility for future growth
Document personalisation and printing web-based solution for passports, ID cards, driving licenses, with advanced biometric integration, high-tech security features, and cutting-edge materials, following industry standards such as ICAO
Developing a solution that allows passengers to go through a biometric corridor by using facial and iris verification matched against biometric data securely stored in a mobile application, enabling seamless and secure passport inspection
